There is no meal I love more than a yummy, scrumptious brunch. It’s something about the combination of waking up late and the efficiency of packing breakfast and lunch into one giant food fest! I surrender to all the possible choices on the menu, want to try all the juices, wish I had 4 stomachs and become an anti-social photo fanatic (honestly, the best food photos are often the brunch ones, amiright?!)
So when bestie London Ellis invited me along with her to Fig Restaurant in Santa Monica, CA for Saturday brunch, the weekend was made for me! Located in the upscale Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows, this quaint, plant-filled, casual but oh-so-elegant, Paris meets LA hideaway overlooks the hotel pool and gardens. The food at brunch is a creative blend and ingredients are not only seaonsally organic, but also sourced from the local Santa Monica Farmer’s Market! Despite the inviting terrace, we opted for indoor seating as the weather was unusally chilly. Read on below for all the details on some of the delicious picks from the Brunch Menu, photos and more information!

The amazing choices for brunch (+ prices) are on the Brunch Menu here! We decided to dive in and get two savory dishes and two sweet. We were not disappointed.
On this heavenly table (circling from top left down to the bottom left)
Fresh Orange Juice
Brioche French Toast with Nutella, Brandied Apples
Corned Beef Hash with Crispy Home Fries, Sunny Side Eggs, Pickled Onions
Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Almond Blueberry Butter
Smoked Salmon Benedict with Poached Eggs, Fine Herbs, Hollandais (in the center of table)
Assortment of hot sauces!
About to dig in to a bite of the Corned Beef Hash with Crispy Home Fries, Sunny Side Eggs, Pickled Onions which is such a hearty option. It tastes fresh and home-made -you can’t help but think of it on a rainy day! The pickled onions were an excellent touch to the dish (but I’m partial to anything sour and pickle-y anyway)!
The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Almond Blueberry Butter were the definition of fluffy and the perfect fix for the brunch sweet tooth. The ricotta cheese gave them a light consistency with a hint of lemon to cut through the rich taste! The Almond Blueberry Butter was a creative addition! The Brioche French Toast with Nutella, Brandied Apples was a great choice to try out. It’s another one of those delicious tastes that takes you to a place of comfort and happiness. The portion size is huge so only order it to share or if you have a bottomless belly!
Smoked Salmon Benedict with Poached Eggs, Fine Herbs, Hollandais with a healthy Arugula side. The eggs were perfect and the ingredients were deliciously fused together on a crunchy thin English muffin.
I absolutely loved our experience at the Fig Restaurant – the executive chef has put much thought into the ingredient combination and selection. I can’t wait to go back! In the mean time, for a Winter to Spring time hearty soup, head over here to my Home-Made Chicken Soup and give it a go (promise it’s easy peasy)!
