4 Sweater Weather Outfit Ideas

4 Sweater Weather Outfit Ideas - Zara Knit Sleeves and Sweatshirt Crop Sweater - thecasualfree.com

Hi loves! HAPPY NEW YEAR! As the weather cools off here in LA (let’s face it, it’s never very cold here), I’ve been on a sweater outfit kick. My main goal is to switch up the way I style sweaters and be more adventurous with the outfit elements I style with them. I styled a sweater dress here on the blog some time ago and that was also a super fun twist on a sweater outfit. That’s classic and elegant but it’s fun to challenge myself and see what sticks! The other day I was roaming around Zara – which, by the way, I shouldn’t do here in the USA because it’s much cheaper back home in Europe! – and I picked out a few things to share with you today. So, read on for 4 Sweater Weather Ideas and leave me a comment below with your favorite look!

+ Sporty Knit & Midi Skirt

How gorgeous is this combination of elements? I really love the Zara knit sweater detail on the sleeves paired with the casual sweatshirt section. It’s like athleisure and winter got together and threw a fashion party! The Zara midi skirt was a leap of faith for me as that’s an item I usually would totally overlook on the rack. The sweater actually has a figure hugging crop section which I preferred to tuck into the skirt to accentuate the high waist and keep it more feminine!

+ Houndstooth Tweed & Pencil Skirt

Enter… elegance on heels. I confess that I’ve always thought ponchos were kind of useless. Oversized and too loose to ever keep you warm. This little Houndstooth Tweed top was a breath of fresh air. The material is nice and thick, the higher neck collar detail keeps me warm and the buttons ACTUALLY unbutton (not just a pretty embellishment) so you can wear this top more casually. I tucked the whole front section into a tiny pencil skirt (that I question whether fits me comfortably any more since having little Zoe) and love how it comes together! The cute faux glasses (Forever 21) give the outfit a retro spin which, again, I would never usually try but here’s to new fashion adventures! I have been absolutely LIVING for the white boot trend. I am definitely a pointy-toe boot kind of girl because it elongates the figure and just looks so chic!

+ Cozy Oversized Sweater with Bow Detail

This is the ultimate cozy sweater weather idea: turtle neck! I couldn’t resist the oversized comfort and the bow detail on the ends of the sleeves really caught my eye. I would wear this to a work meeting or a coffee date with girlfriends! This whole outfit is Zara – the white high-waisted jeans and suede midi heel pumps. Again, I don’t wear glasses but faux glasses have been so much fun to explore!

+ Ruffle Top & Ripped Jeans

This is definitely the most casual of all the outfits! I fell head over heels for this little ruffle detail top. It doesn’t fit into the sweater weather category per se but it is a really comfy and elegant every day option for running around town in. I dressed it down with some (very) ripped Boyfriend jeans and cuff cowgirl booties! Whip up your hair into a ponytail and you’re set!

A little about me…

Hello there! I’m Ana Free, s’nice to meet you! Thanks for stopping by my lifestyle and mommy blog! I’m mama to a gorgeous baby girl called Zoe as well as a four-legged rescue pooch called Indie and wifey to an Argentinian music producer hunk by the name of Rodrigo (but since that’s too long I always call him Rod haha). I love music, writing and singing songs, traveling, doing my makeup, taking photographs and spending time with my family. The craziest thing I’ve ever done is skydive and the most embarrassing was probably when I peed in protest on the floor in ballet as a child because the teacher wouldn’t let me go to the bathroom (seriously, when a 6 year old says they need to go, you gotta let ’em)!

As with most creatives, it seems I have a million and one passions and this space is where I get to write, share, ramble and post whatever comes to mind in my world. It’s really just all things casual, travels, mama+baby, fashion, makeup, style and me.
