Fall Inspiration: Cream Makeup

Today on the blog: Cream Makeup Roundup for Fall! - thecasualfree.com

Hey loves! Yes, Fall is in session. Lately I’ve been opting for cream makeup products since I love how they’re long wear and can blend seamlessly when used and applied correctly. Also, my 5 month old is grabbing my face a lot these days (oh, the pain) and so I need some tough products that won’t budge the second she throws her spitty, sticky fingers all over it! I was digging in my endless makeup drawers (seriously, ask hubby, he’s always ranting about how much is in there lol) and I noticed I keep gravitating towards all the cream formulas! So, I pulled out some products to bring you an all cream makeup post. Some of these products, like the Smashbox Studio Skin Shaping stick Foundation for example, are new this year and other products, such as the Bobbi Brown cream eye liners & shadows are classic makeup staples! My skin is on the dry side so creams work quite well for me and don’t melt off super quickly.

Don’t forget you can shop this post below! Leave a comment with your favorite cream makeup suggestions for me because I love to try new things. I’ll see you guys on the ‘Gram!

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer in Radiance

Just because it’s fall, doesn’t mean you have to lose that summer glow! The Smashbox Photo Finish Primer in Radiance has a touch of pearly glow to keep that dewy sun kissed skin going on. Apply it on clean, dry skin before you begin foundation!

Smashbox Cream Studio Skin Shaping Foundation

I’ve been enjoying the new Smashbox Studio Skin Shaping stick Foundation. This new product includes a creamy, buildable foundation on one end and the complementing contour shade on the other! Isn’t that perfect? I apply it directly onto my face and blend in with a beauty blender! Take your time with it because the formula can be quite thick and if you aren’t careful you can get cake-face (ew, no thanks)!

Lancôme Le Duo

Whilst I do use the contour on the end of the Smashbox foundation stick, I have been so into this Lancôme Le Duo stick which is a cream contour on one side and a highlighter on the other. The consistency of the contour is creamy and light-weight. Unfortunately the highlighter on this product doesn’t pop off my skin tone super well so I tend to favor the Smashbox L.A. Lights highlighter stick (coming next below!) because that shade makes for the perfect sun-catching glow!

Smashbox L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color Stick and Highlighter

When it comes to cream blush I reach straight for my Smashbox L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color Stick. I actually use a brush to buff out the color on my cheek because the sponge on the end doesn’t always work well and I find myself having to press so hard across my face to spread it out evenly that I risk displacing my foundation! The highlighter is so good – I love it more than the powder highlighter palettes – this stick has a lot of color payoff! Yay!

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner & Cream Shadows

Omg. The Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner and Cream Shadows have been with me forever (a little too long, even haha!) – they last for ages, I swear! I usually apply the cream shadow with my ring finger because the warmth really helps to get a nice even spread on the eyelid. If I’m going for a more precise look I will grab a little brush for cream shadow and use that. I sometimes put the shadow color on the back of my hand and work from that so that it’s warm. Be sure to work quickly with the cream shadows because they do dry super fast! The Gel Liner is a dream – a little goes a long way and sometimes it’s easier to control the final result of the liner on your eye when you use a brush and cream liner vs. pen.

Other products included in the post photo are the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (LOVE!), Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick (my favorite I’ve tried so far) and my favorite shade of undereye MAC Cosmetics Powerpoint Eye Pencil liner (Bountiful Brown).

Hope you guys had a great week!

A little about me…

Hello there! I’m Ana Free, s’nice to meet you! Thanks for stopping by my lifestyle and mommy blog! I’m mama to a gorgeous baby girl called Zoe as well as a four-legged rescue pooch called Indie and wifey to an Argentinian music producer hunk by the name of Rodrigo (but since that’s too long I always call him Rod haha). I love music, writing and singing songs, traveling, doing my makeup, taking photographs and spending time with my family. The craziest thing I’ve ever done is skydive and the most embarrassing was probably when I peed in protest on the floor in ballet as a child because the teacher wouldn’t let me go to the bathroom (seriously, when a 6 year old says they need to go, you gotta let ’em)!

As with most creatives, it seems I have a million and one passions and this space is where I get to write, share, ramble and post whatever comes to mind in my world. It’s really just all things casual, travels, mama+baby, fashion, makeup, style and me.
