Summer is feeling… Fresh!

Fresh Sugar Lips Treatment Review - thecasualfree.com

I can’t believe it’s June! The month that marks the beginning of summer for half the planet and of course, the month of my birthday (go shawtay)! How exciting! Today on the blog I’m bringing you my review of the Spring/Summer collection of lippies that were sent to me by fresh – what a treat it was to get all these goodies in the mail.

*Thank you to Fresh for sending me these products to try out. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Don’t forget: you can shop the products at the end of the post!

I have personally been a fresh fan for a while, mainly using their skincare products. The first time their lip products popped up on my beauty radar was when I got a cute mini Sugar Lip treatment balm as a sample after a purchase at Sephora. Now, I’m picky about my lipsticks and especially my lip balms. I’m particular about any lip products with a “built-in” flavor – I’ve always hated flavored glosses and balms so I was a little hesitant to wear anything on my lips with the word SUGAR in giant letters across it. Nevertheless, I carried it around in my makeup bag for a while (LA is so dry you can never ever have too much balm!) and ended up trying it out. I was really surprised when I used it that there isn’t actually any taste of sugar or sweetness in the product despite the hints of sugary scent. The formula of these Sugar Lip treatments is actually really smooth and balmy and leaves my lips feeling hydrated and smooth.  They’re also tinted which gives your lips a little pop of color. It’s great if you’re just wanting a lightweight yet subtle pick-me-up. This product lives somewhere between a very hydrating lip balm with SPF and a gentle tinted gloss.

The Spring/Summer collection, part of the Sugar Lip Care, has a wonderful array of tints and colors (most of which my dear mother stole when she went back to Europe!) including nudes, rosés and honey. Alongside that they have developed the Sugar Advanced Therapy, a replenishing balm to be applied in the day or before bedtime, an All-In-One Essential Perfecting Wand which has tiny bristles that massage and nourish your lips and my favorite product so far, the Sugar Lip Polish which exfoliates and scrubs your lips to create a smooth and perfect pout. I’ve never really given much thought to lip scrubs, but this one is amazing.

Also, how cute is the packaging and little lip book? I’m not sure if it’s available in store but it’s worth asking because it’s a guide to how to achieve the perfect little hydrated pout!

Overall, I really loved this collection – which is saying a lot for someone who is really picky and reserved about what they put on their lips! Well done fresh for keeping the make up side of the brand in line with the quality of their top of the line skincare range. I would purchase this product for sure (and I might have to now, thanks to mom).

Have a great weekend! Keep in touch with me, I’d love to connect on Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook!

xoxo

A little about me…

Hello there! I’m Ana Free, s’nice to meet you! Thanks for stopping by my lifestyle and mommy blog! I’m mama to a gorgeous baby girl called Zoe as well as a four-legged rescue pooch called Indie and wifey to an Argentinian music producer hunk by the name of Rodrigo (but since that’s too long I always call him Rod haha). I love music, writing and singing songs, traveling, doing my makeup, taking photographs and spending time with my family. The craziest thing I’ve ever done is skydive and the most embarrassing was probably when I peed in protest on the floor in ballet as a child because the teacher wouldn’t let me go to the bathroom (seriously, when a 6 year old says they need to go, you gotta let ’em)!

As with most creatives, it seems I have a million and one passions and this space is where I get to write, share, ramble and post whatever comes to mind in my world. It’s really just all things casual, travels, mama+baby, fashion, makeup, style and me.
