Redecorating is one of those things that constantly ranks high on my wishlist but we never seem to find the time (or budget!) to really research, brainstorm or start on it. Our apartment (which we rent), was built in the 70’s and it’s a little outdated to say the least. It’s been a passion of mine to make this space feel like the home it deserves to be! Stylish, peaceful and elegant are words that come to mind. We take quite a lot of liberties when it comes to transforming and improving our living space so the opportunity to explore the WallPops NuWallpaper collection was so exciting for us!
*This post is a collaboration with WallPops! All thoughts and opinions are my own (read more here on this!).
This is a wonderful brand that FINALLY make hanging wallpaper a breeze and joy. This peel-and-stick wallpaper goes up in minutes and is completely removable leaving behind no trace that it was ever there (a HUGE benefit if you’re renting your home)! After browsing over 100+ designs, we settled on two different patterns to redecorate both the entryway wall and create an accent wall in Zoe’s bedroom. I’m so excited to show you how we did it, how easy it was (I was honestly so impressed), the before/after transformations and everything in between. Read on to see how we kicked off 2019 and redecorated with WallPops!
+ The Entry Wall
(before)
We wanted something on this wall that wouldn’t overpower the room. It’s already quite a dominant wall in this space. You can see it from over half of the living room and it wraps around two corners – one to the kitchen, the other to the front door. We decided that Textured Loft White Brick would add a charming character to the room. This version of the Loft Brick pattern (there are 2) is labelled “Textured” because it’s slightly raised! That creates an awesome 3D effect and looks so real! Here’s what we used:
+ About 4 rolls of NuWallpaper Peel-and-Stick Textured Loft White Brick (3’5″ x 8′ in each roll) to cover the wall and wrapping of corners.
+ 2 people. You can do it alone for sure but it’s so much easier with a DIY buddy!
+ Cleaned the wall with a damp cloth.
+ Got some scissors to cut down the roll when we’d get to the bottom.
+ Smoother tool (we used a baking tool from the kitchen haha!) to smoothen out any air bubbles and generally make it adhere super well.
+ Utility knife to cut off excess wallpaper precisely along the baseboards and ceiling.
+ Step ladder, bench or chair to reach the top where you start the sticking!
Remove the wall outlet covers (trust me, it comes out so much nicer!) and align your first section of the roll where you want it. Leave an inch excess at the top too just to give yourself some wiggle room for error. Don’t worry – it’s really easy to just peel off and nudge around if you make a mistake with anything. It doesn’t lose it’s stick either! Peel away the back sheet slowly downwards (watch out for paper cuts though!) and start to simply press and smoothen out. If you have to wrap around walls and get into nooks and crannies like we did, just take your time with it, there’s no rush! Wallpops have a great a video installation tutorial on their YouTube channel here.
And it’s as easy as that! Once you get to the baseboard, cut along the roll with scissors and use the rest for the next pattern alignment and installation. One roll covered 2 wallpaper strips side by side for us on this 8ft tall wall. Pretty good!

+ Accent Wall In Zoe’s Bedroom
We couldn’t resist redecorating for little Zoe! Yes, last year we painted this same wall a blush pink but as I browsed through the designs, I fell in love with this Halcyon design for her. I wanted something she could enjoy and grow into: timeless, soft and elegant. This was the perfect choice. It’s enough to make a statement but not loud and invasive.
(before)
After having done the entry wall, the wallpaper for her room was a breeze to install. Not to mention the pattern was slightly simpler to align than the bricks! I got happier and happier with each roll because this wallpaper is so much more beautiful in person than in pictures!

I can’t choose which wall I like better. They both accomplish the job of totally transforming the spaces in such unique and stylish ways!
